Rustic cabin display/bulletin frame.
This frame was custom made for a customer who wanted something unique to display her daughter's art. She requested a rustic piece, something that had a very woodland/cabin kind of feel. Immediately I knew that a solid wood frame made of reclaimed slats would be the perfect base for this art display. I stained the wood in a medium-dark walnut and lightly dry brushed it in white. For the decoration in the lower left hand corner I used burlap, natural branches, faux antlers, twigs of tiny red berries, and a couple of Christmas ornaments that give the cabin/woodsy feel but can pass as a year-round decoration. Several layers of jute twine criss-crossing the frame at various levels provide ample space for displaying children's art, family or vacation pictures, storing notes, quotes, and reminders, etc.
