Groomsmen boutonnieres in apple green+black colours.
These boutonnieres were part of a series of accessories I made for an apple green and black wedding. I was to make seven boutonnieres for groomsmen. I had previously made faux flower bouquets in this colour scheme so I thought I'd translate the theme and use the same technique I had used to make the flowers for the bouquets to make these boutonnieres.
Working on a very tight budget, I purchased some faux flowers and ribbon at my local dollar store and some accent fabrics at the fabric store. Since flowers from the dollar store are not always so pretty (they are, after all, about a couple of bucks), I took them all apart and reworked the petals to create new, beautiful and unique flowers. To the existing petals, I added some fabric accents and beads to make a new flower. Pairing that with a black feather and some steel gray fabric as an accent, and I had created some pretty unique and pretty boutonnieres!
