Apple green+black fabric flower bouquet.
It's possible to have a beautiful, but thrifty wedding. It's true! You don't have to blow your annual income on just one day. You just have to be creative and think outside the box! Take this bridesmaid bouquet, for example. I was working with a REALLY tight budget and had to make six bouquets. To add to my challenge, the bride had selected apple green and black as her wedding colours, and this not being a common colour scheme, I really had to think about where I was going to source the supplies, and how I was going to deliver pretty bouquets that were also budget friendly.
So what's the first place to look when you only have a dime in your pocket? The dollar store, of course! I picked up a whole bunch of green and black faux flowers from there, ribbon, beads, and some fabrics from my local fabric store, and got to work! Faux flowers from the dollar store are not usually the prettiest, but I saw their potential; I took them all apart and reworked the petals, incorporating accents of fabrics and beads to make new flowers that looked unique and certainly not like they were purchased for a couple of bucks.
Once I had them all arranged on the bouquet, I used silver fabric in between the flowers to fill in any empty areas and to add visual interest with this complimentary colour. A few black feathers here and there, a pretty ribbon tied around the handle, and voila! Beautiful faux flower bouquet complete!
