Zentangle owl canvases.
I was looking for inspiration to create some colourful artwork for my daughter's room. When I stumbled upon "zentangling" I instantly fell in love! I was mesmerized by every image I saw, by the depth of detail that each contained. But, there was one zentangle artist whose work I really gravitated towards. Hannah Davies' pieces had a different kind of flare. Her illustrations were a little more unique, a bit boho, and somewhat dainty. I loved her style and I wanted to create something similar for my daughter's room.
Zentangle owls by Hannah Davies.
I studied various owls in particular that Davies had drawn and I incorporated the elements that I liked best from each into my own drawings. I used bright colours in different shades on the owls and added colourful backgrounds to create cheerful and distinct canvases.
I worked on these in the evenings once my daughter had gone down for the night, all the chores were done for the day, and the house was quiet. I often times stayed up way too late. But, as any detail-oriented project, I found this one to be very soothing and therapeutic. It was the perfect way to end the day, to relax my body and mind.
