Garage sign.
If your guy is like my hubby, Eric, then he loves his garage. To him, this space is not where you put out garbage and keep lawn and garden tools, but rather it's an extension of the house that should be decorated like any other room in the home (a nice epoxy floor, cabinetry to hold all your car gadgets and cleaning supplies, and tools, and should certainly not have any of your wive's crafty wood scraps, branches, and other stuff messily strewn about - sorry hunny!).
And I get that, I really do. Just as much as I feel that my creative studio is my sanctuary, I understand some guys find comfort in hanging out in their garage working on their cars, bikes, or just kicking back, sipping a beer, watching the game with his buds. So when a customer approached me about making a garage sign for her husband to hang in his new man cave, I was pretty excited about being able to contribute to personalizing his garage.
I had clear instructions for making this sign; a solid piece of 9x18" piece of wood, stained in medium-dark walnut, with black lettering. My customer was also very specific about how she wanted the writing to be done and I was more than happy to comply!
The end result is great; black, simple letters all stencilled and painted in by hand to make up a modern sign to clearly show who claims the space. Love it.
And when I finally get around to tidying my mess in the garage, you can be sure that Eric will get one of these signs too!
