Flower girl baskets + ring bearer pillows in tiffany blue.
This is a set of three identical flower girl baskets and two ring bearer pillows I made for a customer whose wedding colours were tiffany blue and ivory. The accessories were to be simply modern. To make the baskets I began with inexpensive plastic containers from the dollar store. I removed the original short plastic handle and made a longer one, which I wrapped in tiffany blue fabric. I wrapped the baskets in quilt batting and covered in tiffany blue fabric. For a modern look, I made oversized folds in the fabric at the top rim as opposed to gathering it tightly like a ruffle. Next, I made a large blooming flower by reworking the petals of inexpensive foam roses. Finally, I added pearl twigs to the flower and accented with embroidered lace.
To match the above set of baskets, I was to make two ring bearer pillows. Again, to keep the design streamlined and modern, I made a simple pillow out of tiffany blue fabric and added a cream bow on the front to which the rings would tie. Accented with a blooming flower, this time slightly smaller than on the baskets, and a pearl twig. I opted not to add the lace here as the customer requested that since they would be carried by boys, the pillows not be very feminine. A "strap" was sewn on the back of the pillow for easy holding.
