Let is snow!
I had this one, lonely snowflake left in my stash of Holiday supplies and I really wanted to use it up before the season was over. It was so pretty and sparkly, it would have been a shame not to do something with it... but what?
After much deliberation, experimenting with other supplies, sketching ideas and throwing them out, I decided to keep it simple and make a rustic sign that would showcase the snowflake itself.
I began by staining a wood pallet in a medium-dark walnut stain. I then lightly dry brushed the pallet in white to highlight the rustic characteristics such as nail holes and cracks, and to give the wood some visual depth. Next, I hand painted the letters and snowflakes using left over white paint. Finally, I adhered the large sparkly snowflake into place. So simple but so pretty. A perfect accent to display anywhere in your home during the Holidays.
